Cancellation Charges for Reservations

Domestic Organized Package Tours

If the customer cancels the trip for personal reasons after the Travel Contract has been concluded, the following Cancellation Charges will apply per traveler, calculated as a percentage of the Tour Price, in accordance with Table 1 and Table 2 below.

Where the number of occupants in a room changes, the applicable difference in room charges resulting from the change in occupancy will also be charged to the participating customers.

Note

Cancellation Charges shall also apply where the trip is cancelled due to loan processing issues or other circumstances for which the Company is not responsible.

Domestic Custom-Designed Package Tours

Before the Commencement of the Trip

1. Customer’s Right to Cancel

(1) The customer may cancel the Travel Contract at any time after the Travel Contract has been concluded by paying the applicable Cancellation Charges set forth in Table 1 below.

For the purposes of the table, the “Cancellation Date” shall mean the date and time when the customer notifies the Company of the cancellation during the Company’s regular business days and business hours.

Please note that the amount of the Cancellation Charges may vary depending on the date on which the cancellation request is received. Customers are therefore advised to confirm the Company’s business days, business hours, and contact information at the time of application.

(2) Where the Travel Contract is cancelled due to procedures relating to travel loan arrangements or other administrative procedures associated with obtaining financing, or due to other travel documentation or departure formalities, the cancellation shall also be subject to the Cancellation Charges set forth above.

(3) The customer may cancel the Travel Contract without payment of Cancellation Charges in any of the following circumstances:

a) Where the contents of the Travel Contract have been amended, provided that such amendment constitutes a material change, including those listed in the left-hand column of Table 2 referred to in Section 22, or any other significant modification.

b) Where the Tour Price has been increased pursuant to Section 12.

c) Where the safe and orderly operation of the tour has become impossible, or there is an extremely high likelihood that it will become impossible, due to natural disasters, war, civil unrest, suspension of Travel Services by transportation providers, accommodation providers, or other service suppliers, orders of governmental authorities, or any other similar circumstances.

d) Where the Company has failed to deliver the itinerary described in Section 5(4) by the deadline specified therein.

e) Where the Company is unable, due to reasons attributable to the Company, to conduct the tour in accordance with the itinerary described in the brochure.

(4) Where the Travel Contract is cancelled pursuant to Paragraph (1), Items a or b above, the Company shall refund the Tour Price (or deposit) already received after deducting the applicable Cancellation Charges.

If the amount of the deposit is insufficient to cover the Cancellation Charges, the customer shall pay the balance.

Where the Travel Contract is cancelled pursuant to Paragraph (1), Item c above, the Company shall refund the full amount of the Tour Price (or deposit) already received.

e) Where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) issues a travel advisory of “Consider Whether or Not to Travel” (Level 2) or higher for any destination included in the itinerary, the Company will, in principle, cancel the operation of the tour.

2. Company’s Right to Terminate the Travel Contract

a) If the customer fails to pay the Tour Price by the payment deadline specified in Section 7, the Company shall deem that the customer has no intention of participating in the tour and shall terminate the Travel Contract on the following day.

In such event, the customer shall pay a Penalty Charge equal to the applicable Cancellation Charge specified in Table 1 under Paragraph (1)(a) corresponding to the date of cancellation.

b) The Company may terminate the Travel Contract in any of the following circumstances:

a) Where the customer is deemed unable to participate in the tour due to illness, the absence of a required caregiver, or any other similar reason.

b) Where the customer’s conduct is likely to cause inconvenience to other participants or interfere with the smooth operation of group activities.

c) Where the customer requests services or accommodations that exceed a reasonable scope under the terms of the Travel Contract.

d) Where travel conditions expressly stated by the Company, such as adequate snowfall for ski tours, are not satisfied, or where there is an extremely high likelihood that such conditions will not be satisfied.

e) Where the safe and orderly operation of the tour in accordance with the itinerary set forth in the Contract Document has become impossible, or is highly likely to become impossible, due to natural disasters, war, civil unrest, suspension of Travel Services by transportation providers, accommodation providers, or other service suppliers, orders of governmental authorities, or any other circumstances beyond the Company’s reasonable control.

f) As an example of Item (e) above, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan issues a travel advisory of “Consider Whether or Not to Travel” (Level 2) or higher for any destination included in the itinerary.

After the Commencement of the Trip

If the Tour Price has not been paid by the prescribed payment deadline, the Company shall deem that the customer has terminated the Travel Contract on the day following such deadline.

In such event, the customer shall pay a Penalty Charge equivalent to the applicable amount specified in Table 1.

Overseas Organized Package Tours

Before the Commencement of the Trip

1. Customer’s Right to Cancel and Refund

a) The customer may terminate the Travel Contract at any time after the Travel Contract has been concluded by paying the applicable Cancellation Charges set forth in Table 1 below.

For the purposes of this table, the “Cancellation Date” shall mean the date and time on which the customer notifies the Company of the cancellation during the Company’s regular business days and business hours.

Please note that the amount of the Cancellation Charges may vary depending on the date on which the cancellation request is received. Customers are therefore advised to confirm the Company’s business days, business hours, and contact information at the time of application.

b) Where the customer changes the tour itinerary or departure date after the Travel Contract has been concluded, such change shall also be subject to the Cancellation Charges set forth above.

c) Where the Travel Contract is terminated due to procedures relating to travel loan arrangements or other administrative procedures associated with obtaining financing, or due to other travel documentation or departure formalities, the termination shall likewise be subject to the applicable Cancellation Charges set forth above.

d) The customer may terminate the Travel Contract without payment of Cancellation Charges in any of the following circumstances:

(a) Where the contents of the Travel Contract have been amended, provided that such amendment constitutes a material change, including those listed in the left-hand column of Table 2 referred to in Section 24(2), or any other significant modification.

(b) Where the Tour Price has been increased pursuant to Section 13(1).

© Where the safe and orderly operation of the tour has become impossible, or there is an extremely high likelihood that it will become impossible, due to natural disasters, war, civil unrest, suspension of Travel Services by transportation providers, accommodation providers, or other travel service suppliers, orders of governmental authorities, or any other similar circumstances.

(d) Where the Company has failed to deliver the itinerary referred to in Section 5(4) by the deadline specified therein.

(e) Where, due to reasons attributable to the Company, it becomes impossible to conduct the tour in accordance with the itinerary described in the brochure.

e) Where the Travel Contract is terminated pursuant to Paragraph (1), Items a, b, or c above, the Company shall refund the Tour Price (or deposit) already received after deducting the applicable Cancellation Charges.

If the amount of the deposit is insufficient to cover the Cancellation Charges, the customer shall pay the balance.

Where the Travel Contract is terminated pursuant to Paragraph (1), Item d above, the Company shall refund the full amount of the Tour Price (or deposit) already received.

f) Where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) issues a travel advisory of “Consider Whether or Not to Travel” (Level 2) or higher for any destination included in the itinerary, the Company will, in principle, cancel the operation of the tour.

2. Company’s Right to Terminate the Travel Contract

a) If the customer fails to pay the Tour Price by the payment deadline specified in Section 7, the Company shall deem that the customer has no intention of participating in the tour and shall terminate the Travel Contract on the following day.

In such event, the customer shall pay a Penalty Charge equal to the applicable Cancellation Charge specified in Table 1 under Paragraph (1)(a) corresponding to the date of termination.

b) The Company may terminate the Travel Contract in any of the following circumstances:

(a) Where it becomes evident that the customer does not satisfy the participation requirements specified in advance by the Company, including gender, age, qualifications, skills, or other eligibility requirements applicable to the tour.

(b) Where the customer is deemed unable to participate in the tour due to illness, the absence of a required caregiver, or any other similar reason.

© Where the customer’s conduct is likely to inconvenience other participants or interfere with the smooth operation of group activities.

(d) Where the customer requests services or accommodations that exceed a reasonable scope under the terms of the Travel Contract.

(e) Where the number of participants fails to reach the minimum number of participants specified in the brochure.

In such event, the Company shall notify the customer of the cancellation of the tour:

  • no later than the 33rd day prior to the departure date for tours commencing during the periods of April 27 through May 6, July 20 through August 31, or December 20 through January 7; or
  • no later than the 23rd day prior to the departure date for tours commencing during any other period.

(f) Where travel conditions expressly stated by the Company, such as adequate snowfall for ski tours, are not satisfied, or where there is an extremely high likelihood that such conditions will not be satisfied.

(g) Where the safe and orderly operation of the tour in accordance with the itinerary set forth in the Contract Document has become impossible, or is highly likely to become impossible, due to natural disasters, war, civil unrest, suspension of Travel Services by transportation providers, accommodation providers, or other travel service suppliers, orders of governmental authorities, or any other circumstances beyond the Company’s reasonable control.

(h) As an example of Item (g) above, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) issues a travel advisory of “Consider Whether or Not to Travel” (Level 2) or higher for any destination included in the itinerary.

c) Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (2)(a) above, the Company shall refund the Tour Price (or deposit) already received after deducting the applicable Penalty Charge.

Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (2)(b) above, the Company shall refund the full amount of the Tour Price (or deposit) already received.

After the Commencement of the Trip

1. Customer’s Right to Cancel and Refund

If the customer voluntarily leaves the tour after its commencement, such action shall be deemed a voluntary waiver of the customer’s rights under the Travel Contract, and no refund shall be made.

Even after the commencement of the trip, if the customer is unable to receive any Travel Services specified in the itinerary due to reasons not attributable to the customer, the customer may terminate the portion of the Travel Contract relating to the Travel Services that have become impossible to provide without paying any Cancellation Charges.

In such case, the Company shall refund the portion of the Tour Price corresponding to the Travel Services that could not be provided, after deducting any Cancellation Charges, Penalty Charges, or other expenses that have already been paid or must be paid to the relevant Travel Service providers.

2. Company’s Right to Terminate After the Commencement of the Trip

a) Even after the commencement of the trip, the Company may terminate part of the Travel Contract after explaining the reasons to the customer in advance in any of the following circumstances:

a) Where the Company determines that the customer is unable to continue the trip due to illness or any other reason.

b) Where the customer fails to comply with the instructions of the Tour Escort or other representatives necessary for the safe and orderly operation of the tour, disrupts group discipline, or otherwise interferes with the safe and smooth conduct of the tour.

c) Where continuation of the trip becomes impossible due to natural disasters, war, civil unrest, suspension of Travel Services by transportation providers, accommodation providers, or other Travel Service suppliers, orders of governmental authorities, or any other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Company.

d) As an example of Item © above, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) issues a travel advisory of “Consider Whether or Not to Travel” (Level 2) or higher for any destination included in the itinerary, making continuation of the trip impossible.

b) Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (2)(a) above, except where the customer terminates the Travel Contract by paying the applicable Cancellation Charges under Paragraph (1), the customer shall bear any Cancellation Charges, Penalty Charges, or other expenses already paid or payable to the providers of the Travel Services that could no longer be received as a result of such termination.

In such case, the Company shall refund the portion of the Tour Price corresponding to the Travel Services not yet received by the customer after deducting any Cancellation Charges, Penalty Charges, or other expenses already paid or payable by the Company to the relevant Travel Service providers.

c) Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (2)(a), Items (a) or © above, the Company shall, at the customer’s request and expense, make the necessary arrangements for the customer’s return to the original departure point.

All expenses incurred in connection with such return arrangements shall be borne by the customer.

d) Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (2)(a) above, the contractual relationship between the Company and the customer shall terminate only with respect to future performance.

Accordingly, all obligations of the Company relating to the Travel Services already provided to the customer shall be deemed to have been duly and fully performed.

Overseas Custom-Designed Package Tours

Before the Commencement of the Trip

1. Customer’s Right to Terminate the Travel Contract

a) The customer may terminate the Travel Contract at any time after the Travel Contract has been concluded by paying the applicable Cancellation Charges set forth in Table 1 below.

d) Where the Travel Contract is terminated pursuant to Paragraph (1), Item (1), a or b above, the Company shall refund the Tour Price (or deposit) already received after deducting the applicable Cancellation Charges.

If the amount of the deposit is insufficient to cover the Cancellation Charges, the customer shall pay the balance.

Where the Travel Contract is terminated pursuant to Paragraph (1), Item (1), c above, the Company shall refund the full amount of the Tour Price (or deposit) already received.

e) Where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) issues a travel advisory of “Consider Whether or Not to Travel” (Level 2) or higher for any destination included in the itinerary, the Company will, in principle, cancel the operation of the tour.

2. Company’s Right to Terminate the Travel Contract

(e) Where the safe and orderly operation of the tour in accordance with the itinerary set forth in the Contract Document has become impossible, or is highly likely to become impossible, due to natural disasters, war, civil unrest, suspension of Travel Services by transportation providers, accommodation providers, or other travel service suppliers, orders of governmental authorities, or any other circumstances beyond the Company’s reasonable control.

(f) As an example of Item (e) above, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) issues a travel advisory of “Consider Whether or Not to Travel” (Level 2) or higher for any destination included in the itinerary.

c) Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (1), Item (1), a above, the Company shall refund the Tour Price (or deposit) already received after deducting the applicable Penalty Charge.

Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (2), Item (2), b above, the Company shall refund the full amount of the Tour Price (or deposit) already received.

After the Commencement of the Trip

1. Customer’s Right to Cancel and Refund

a. If the customer voluntarily withdraws from the tour after the commencement of the trip, such withdrawal shall be deemed a voluntary waiver of the customer’s rights under the Travel Contract, and no refund shall be made.

b. Even after the commencement of the trip, if the customer is unable to receive any Travel Services specified in the itinerary due to reasons not attributable to the customer, the customer may terminate the portion of the Travel Contract relating to the Travel Services that have become impossible to provide without paying any Cancellation Charges.

In such event, the Company shall refund the portion of the Tour Price corresponding to the unavailable Travel Services after deducting any Cancellation Charges, Penalty Charges, or any other expenses that have already been paid or must be paid to the relevant Travel Service providers.

2. Company’s Right to Terminate and Refund

a. Even after the commencement of the trip, the Company may terminate part of the Travel Contract, after explaining the reasons to the customer in advance, in any of the following circumstances:

a) Where the customer is unable to continue the trip due to illness or any other similar reason.

b) Where the customer fails to comply with the instructions of the Tour Escort or other representatives necessary for the safe and orderly operation of the tour, disrupts group discipline, or otherwise interferes with the safe and smooth conduct of the tour.

c) Where continuation of the trip becomes impossible due to natural disasters, war, civil unrest, suspension of Travel Services by transportation providers, accommodation providers, or other Travel Service suppliers, orders of governmental authorities, or any other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Company.

d) As an example of Item © above, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) issues a travel advisory of “Consider Whether or Not to Travel” (Level 2) or higher for any destination included in the itinerary, making continuation of the trip impossible.

b. Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (2)(a) above, except where the customer terminates the Travel Contract by paying the applicable Cancellation Charges under Paragraph (1)(a), the customer shall bear any Cancellation Charges, Penalty Charges, or other expenses already paid or payable to the providers of the Travel Services that could no longer be received as a result of such termination.

In such case, the Company shall refund the portion of the Tour Price corresponding to the Travel Services not yet received by the customer after deducting any Cancellation Charges, Penalty Charges, or other expenses already paid or payable by the Company to the relevant Travel Service providers.

c. Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (2)(a), Items (a) or © above, the Company shall, at the customer’s request and expense, make the necessary arrangements for the customer’s return to the original departure point.

All expenses incurred in connection with such return arrangements shall be borne by the customer.

d. Where the Company terminates the Travel Contract pursuant to Paragraph (2)(a) above, the contractual relationship between the Company and the customer shall terminate only with respect to future performance.

Accordingly, all obligations of the Company relating to the Travel Services already provided to the customer shall be deemed to have been duly and fully performed.
